Vision, Mission & Core Values

Our Vision

A safe, loving, and inclusive learning community where children, families,

and staff feel welcomed, accepted, and supported and where individuals

are empowered to contribute their unique experiences, interests, abilities,

ideas, and questions.

Mission

Our mission is to cultivate each child’s natural curiosity to explore the world around them; to support each child as they develop personally, socially, and academically, with a focus on fostering emotional intelligence, critical thinking, self-understanding, collaboration, giving, and an appreciation of the inner goodness of all people, inspired by Jewish values and culture.

Core Values

Emotionally Responsive Practice Inspired:  Our core values are inspired by emotionally responsive practice as articulated by Lesley Koplow at Bank Street College of Education, emotionally responsive practice focuses on how supportive and meaningful relationships, curriculum, and environments contribute significantly to the emotional well-being of young children.  Children and families who feel loved and valued by their early childhood program will feel more comfortable and secure.  These positive emotions serve as a foundation for future growth across all areas of development and learning, including esteem and confidence to act lovingly and responsibly toward others. Creating a safe and emotionally responsive classroom community is necessary in generating a foundation for progress through educative experiences.

Value of the Individual: Each of us has unique talents, strengths, and perspectives to contribute to the lives of others.

Learning Community: All learning and growth is rooted in caring, responsive relationships and positive, meaningful collaboration among educators, children, and families.

Inquiry: We learn how to think and solve problems by asking and considering questions – by listening to and being listened to, by asking and being asked.

Intentionality: We make decisions with purpose and understanding creating an environment in which learning and cooperating are exciting and rewarding

Lifelong Learning: Everybody needs to learn and grow, and everybody learns at his or her level and pace throughout life.
